Over the past several months, I’ve had to visit Genesis Dental of Magna many times. I grind my teeth and have also had to have many crowns done, but with no pain during and very minimal afterwards, as of tomorrow, my dental work will finally be complete… for now.🤪 I’m on the spectrum and can be super picky about the way my teeth feel in my mouth, however Dr. Dan and one of the newer, amazing staff, Kenna, have been amazing to work with. They talk to me throughout the process, show me what’s going on and even have light sensitive glasses available. My new crowns and fillings fill like they actually belong in my mouth and fit properly. The price I’m going to pay (worst case scenario) is even given to me up front. Love this place! After visiting several dentists over the years and having a long term primary, this experience has completely changed my perspective and alleviated much of my fears about dental visits. If you’ve ever felt a lot of pain during a root canal and weren’t able to get fully numb, then you’ll understand. In the past, I’ve had some extremely painful and anxiety-inducing procedures, but this team is by far the best I’ve ever encountered. Dr. Ellingson was exceptional; he worked swiftly and accurately, demonstrating his extensive experience. The entire team is incredibly professional and empathetic, making the entire experience much more comfortable and enjoyable. Looks to me that I have found my new primary dentist and that is a huge relief. ~ Mike P

I called Vicki because I was experiencing pain in my mouth and noticed swelling in my gums. She was incredibly helpful and guided me through the next steps. She made sure I got the care I needed and helped me schedule an appointment as quickly as possible. Her kindness and professionalism made a stressful situation much easier. Anh provided an exceptional experience during my deep cleaning. She was incredibly understanding and attentive, ensuring I felt comfortable throughout the entire process. Her clear communication kept me informed every step of the way, and her meticulous approach ensured I experienced no discomfort. as a business owner I am always watching how peoples customer service is. I was calling with such great pain in my tooth, but Vicki sweetness almost made me forget that toothache. Literally from the minute, she has the phone you could hear it in her voice that she’s smiling. Happy Ricky was not only the sweetest, but also the most sympathetic and understand you were exactly what I knew with empathy and wonderful can-do attitude Her assistance was without the best I have ever came across customer service. It’s very hard to find someone with the dedication the sweetness and customer service that you always want to have. Vicki is definitely beyond amazing, almost without a doubt she is the best at what she does. ~ Elite H

Honestly I don’t even know where to start… 1st thing first I called these guys at 7am because I need emergency root canal as I already suffered 3 days in pain. And I was trying to go to the Taylorsville location as it’s closer to me unfortunately the lady at the reception desk told me they were full and said the Magna location had openings. Long story short she scheduled me for the Magna location and these guys were by far amazing. I was so scared but the lady assured me everything will be ok. Honestly I wouldn’t go no other dentist I’ll just come starting to the Magna location. These guys deserve not only 5 star rating but also the drs and all the workers and when I say all I mean all the workers deserve a raise. Thank you guys so much for all your work and getting me being seen and treated at the last min. You guys rock. ~ Alexandra H

I have had nothing but great service here. Dr. Ellingson is a wizard with teeth and has now gone out of his way twice to remediate problems caused by previous dentists. During my last visit, something with his staff occurred that I did not expect. In all my countless dental work I had never had a numbing where I never felt ANY of the needle sticks. Either Trudy is also a magician, or very good at her job (I want to say both). A special thank you to Trudy, Anna, Tara, and Veronica. The staff that followed all of the new COVID guidelines to a T while providing the same excellent service I have come to know. Thank you for keeping all of us safe while still bringing a sense of normalcy in the form of excellent dental service. ~ Eddie L

It was Thursday almost Friday morning and I was dealing with the worst tooth ache I've had in years and so grab my and Google Dental near me , Magna and Genesis Dental popped up and I typed in that I have Medicaid and the screen was choose my Appointment location and then pick the time I want to come in and be seen.So by 830 Friday morning I was checked in for my and and the receptionist were absolutely the best they had big beautiful smiles very friendly truly the Best. And then I was called back to the dentist chair and the dentist's assistant was very friendly and explained everything to me and then the dentist walks and looked at the X-rays and suggested a Root Canal because the tooth could be saved. I was numbed up and then with a Bing, bang ,boom and the Root Canal was done. From the dentist to the receptions , they all get 5 Star rating from myself. Thank you so much ~ Rebecca S

My dentist and Maya worked very well together, I was really impressed with the synchronicity between them. How fast paced and efficient they were. I had a root canal (1st one) and was kind of scared but not really scared with dental work. But WOW! They really made me feel comfortable and I felt that because they were so good and appeared so confident in what they were doing. I was able to let go, breathe and just let them take care of me and my needs. Also calling to get in, along with Adult Medicaid, they took me right in within a day or two, super easy going!! Already love it here!! I’ve been twice and I’m called back right away, they send me text day before and right before to keep me informed. Jen at the front Desk, super cute sweet fun and really easy going. Fun to talk to and really sweet and caring to meet your dental needs! Thanks so much!! ~ Tawni T

I had been in such pain all weekend and I call Genesis Dental of Magna and they gave me the soonest appointment they had. They took x-ray's and the dentist told me what I was basically knew, that my wisdom tooth had to come out, this is what was causing me the pain. Instead of have me come back on a different day (as I had taken off that day from work to get it taken care of) they gave me a time to come back that same day to have the procedure done. I was so glad that they took the time to accommodate me. I don't get paid for the days I take off. I came back and the dentist and their assistants are all so nice and will do anything to make you comfortable. The dentist told me through the process what to expect and I appreciated that. I would go back here and recommend others to this facility. Thank you Genesis and all the employees for such a good experience. ~ Rebecca M

My 1st time going here & I absolutely love it so far. Such an amazing happy friendly helpful team. They let me know Everything that was going on & kept asking if I had any questions. Very super helpful with checking to see what my insurance covered. I highly recommend checking them out!!!! Thanks y'all for such a fantastic fabulous 1st time. Such a welcoming atmosphere!!!! I'd give more than 5 🌟 if I could. I'm looking forward to going back & getting some work done here. Puedo decir honestamente que el servicio en la extracción de dos muelas fue fantástico, a pesar que fue difícil extraer una de ellas (muelas) no exageró pero es Nulo el supuesto dolor nada absolutamente Nada ni después de 6 horas después no tengo absolutamente ninguna molestia lo recomiendo ampliamente I can honestly say that the service during the extraction of two teeth was fantastic. Even though one of them was difficult to extract, the pain was practically nonexistent—absolutely nothing. Not even six hours later do I have any discomfort whatsoever. I just came back from my first cleaning with Genesis Dental and I had a really good experience! Everyone there was so friendly. I was so afraid that I wouldn’t hear too great of news because I haven’t gone to the dentist in a while but the staff really made me feel comfortable especially Anh who did my cleaning, she was very knowledgeable and informed me each time there was something she thought I should know which I appreciated so much! She was so careful but also thorough and I was impressed. Everyone was very nice. I’ll definitely be going there from now on and will be scheduling an appointment for my husband to go there now too! ~ Diana S

I dislike going to the dentist im always on edge it seems bad experiences when i was a kid anyways ill leave that for another time Genesis takes that edge feeling away all around good ppl good at what they do and its who they are there not trying to take the edge off it just goes alway being around them i alnost want to say i enjoy going to the dentist lol not there yet but im sure i will if i continue going i will be AMAZING PPL THANK YOU GENESIS Came in for my crown not much to say other then PERFECT the DA Liz was pretty badass crown looks great DR Dan the Man thank you ,you guys make this easy see you soon ~ Los L

Dan Ellingson was my dentist for six plus years before insurance issues forced me to go elsewhere. With insurance issues resolved, I was able to return to Genesis and it was almost like coming home! Service is always great. It's four months later and I just went in for a routine cleaning. Sarah, the hygienist, was great and didn't leave me feeling like I had just been run through a meat grinder!! Five stars! 1/29/25 - Still going to Genesis Dental! Sarah is one of the best, if not THE best, hygienist I have seen. She doesn't just tell you what you should do, she let's you see what she is talking about! Dr. Dan, as always, is a great dentist. He wants you to get longest life possible out of your teeth and doesn't attempt to sell you on services you don't need like a lot of other dentists do! I will continue going to this dentist for as long as he maintains an office here, or until I croak, whichever comes first! ~ Randy

It’s always a pleasure going to this dentist office, little to no wait time, experienced and professional staff makes it great. This is from someone who stopped going to the dentist for 30 years because of the pain. This office is pain free for me. Check them out, you won’t regret it. 8/20/24 I lost my Insurance 7 years ago due to a disability that stopped me from working so it’s been a long time since I’ve been back and I lost a tooth so I needed a emergency appointment. I looked them up online and they have a whole new Online appointment setter and I was able to put in all my information and make an appointment for the next morning at 1am. This was the coolest option I’ve seen any Dental Office do and was so easy. Showed up for my appointment and had my needs met without any problems, the Staff there is still fantastic and even though it’s now a 1/2 hour out of my way I will still continue coming here. I had several crowns and a bridge done here, and I can honestly say this was the best dental experience I’ve ever had. The entire staff was so sweet and caring, and Dr. Sorensen went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable the whole time. He made sure my mouth was completely numb before starting and was very patient with me, especially since my anxiety was pretty high. They really know how to handle patients with care and compassion. I’m so grateful I found this office and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist who truly cares. ~ Sabrina

I just started going to Genesis Dental this year, and man can I say I wish I had known about this Dentist office before. I've struggled horribly trying to find a dentist office that actually makes me feel like a human being instead of an inconvenience and disrespected. My teeth got horrible due to pushing it off and not wanting to deal with it. I finally found Genesis Dental in Magna and my heart (and teeth) are so happy!! I had very good experience for being at the dentist office where Usually I have extremely high anxiety, But Liz was there for me and made sure I was comfortable with water and some sugar to put in my belly help me a lot and Doctor Sorensen is really friendly answered all my problems and questions. Dr. Sorenson gave me better options that saved me money, that it her office didn’t they were charging me for unnecessary procedures That boosted the bill a that boosted the bill a couple thousand bucks. I would gladly recommend Genesis dental of magna (Dr. Sorensen) to all my friends and family!! ~ Michael P

Taryn, Trudy, and Malarie were all awesome. Taryn does an excellent job of explaining pricing with their discount plan and with your dental benefits. I asked several times about the pricing just because I’m a little OCD and she never once failed to smile and always has a great attitude every time I have spoken with her. Trudy did my deep cleaning. She took great care of me and explained the whole process before the procedure. She also numbed my mouth before my root canal. Just sayin, if you want someone who is going to be super gentle with the needle then go to her. Malarie was amazing. She worked with Dr. Ellingson during my root canal. They both worked together great and everything was very fluid and smooth. And Dr. Ellingson is probably by far the best dentist I have had. He is very honest with what is going on with your teeth and will suggest the best procedure or course of action. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being awesome guys. I have been going to Genesis for over a year and they always treat me well. Their hours are very convenient and they are always very accommodating to my schedule. Trudy was my dental hygienist and she was very knowledgeable and I felt comfortable talking to her about some of my dental concerns. She is very professional and knows what she’s doing. Her confidence made me feel comfortable through the process. Veronica was very friendly and helped me check out and was willing to work with my schedule for future appointments. It ran 25 minutes late wish all health care places let you know they were behind before you leave home Im just saying that in general Everyone was nice I can’t say enough about how friendly everyone was! - UPDATE 4 to 5 stars ✨ 🌟 ⭐️ 💫🤩12/11/2025 ALL OF THE PEOPLE I have met so far are beyond KIND doing a lot and making it happen for me I appreciate you making time you ALL don’t have. My first visit with Doctor Dan and his amazing staff was very welcoming, and friendly. I have an appointment coming up to get a crown on my tooth and a filling on the other very excited. I feel like I’m definitely in good hands. I feel very safe. I can’t wait to share my amazing experience. I know Doctor Dan and his staff are gonna definitely take good care of me. Everyone is super sweet and patient, and the atmosphere is very welcoming! Anh is a doll and has made my experience here so nice and pleasant! Dr. Sorensen is incredibly thorough and cares about how you're doing, checking in while he works and making sure you understand what he's doing and wanting to do. Liz is also wonderful, helping with anything you ask for and making sure you're as comfortable as possible! Jen is also just a total doll, making the process on phone so easy and she's so helpful with questions! ~ a1t-ernative
